1948 – Founding days
Josef Faber senior (l.) founds the Faber company by taking over the Austrian general agency for the Jawa motorbike brand. The company headquarters are located in Kirchstetterngasse in Ottakring, the 16th district of Vienna.
1962 Honda
Josef Faber Sr. signs the import contract with Honda and becomes the first Austrian importer of Japanese products.
1964 – Piaggio
Faber takes over the general agency for the traditional Italian two-wheeler brands Piaggio, Vespa and Gilera, thus laying the foundation for a successful commercial relationship.
1982 – Honda Austria
Faber founds Honda Austria GmbH together with Honda Tokyo, hands over the general agency to them and remains a Honda contract partner until 2007.
1992 – The new generation takes over
Josef Faber jun. takes over the management of the company with his brother Peter. Josef Faber Sr. remains active in the company as a consultant.
2006 – Derbi
Faber GmbH takes over the general agency of another Piaggio Group brand, Derbi.
2007 – Neuer Standort
Faber GmbH moves its the entire company (wholesale, workshop and retail operations) from its previous location in Ottakring to Carlbergergasse 66a in the 23rd district of Vienna.
2008 – Moto Guzzi & PCV
Faber GmbH further strengthens its partnership with the Piaggio Group and becomes general importer for Moto Guzzi and Piaggio Commercial Vehicles.
2017 – Faber Moto CZ s.r.o.
The Piaggio Group places its full trust in Faber GmbH and transfers the general agency for Piaggio, Vespa, Moto Guzzi and Aprilia for the Czech Republic to the newly founded subsidiary Faber Moto s.r.o..
2020 – Faber Roller & Bike Flagshipstore
In May 2020, Faber KfZ-Vertriebs GmbH opened its flagship store at Praterstraße 47 in the 2nd district of Vienna after extensive remodelling of the premises.
The two-wheeler brands Vespa, Piaggio and Moto Guzzi are presented in all their splendour in a modern, stylish ambience. The City Store offers vehicle sales, merchandising and accessories as well as a workshop for small repairs and services.
2021 – Faber Moto SK s.r.o.
The Piaggio Group demonstrates its full confidence in the Faber GmbH and entrusts the newly founded subsidiary Faber Moto SK s.r.o. with the general agency for Piaggio, Vespa, Moto Guzzi and Aprilia for the Slovak Republic.
2022 – Faber Ecom GmbH
The Faber Ecom GmbH was founded to strengthen the Faber Group’s position in the B2C market. The vision is to establish the Faber online world as the company’s digital business card, a digital meeting place for the two-wheeler community and the first choice for consumers.
2024 – New flagship store FABER HALL
The beginning of 2024 marked the start of a new chapter for Faber KfZ-Vertriebs GmbH. The former Lexus Hall on the southern edge of Vienna is now home to a light-flooded, 1,000 m² salesroom and a modern workshop in an architecturally unique building.
